The story of Thorséng
The name Thorséng comes close to the resort’s location on Tåsinge, where the name originates from Norse mythology with Thors énge, ie Tåsinge.
Thorséng was created to contribute to the community, in the form of creating products, services and events to support the island and the South Funen archipelago.
The starting point for Thorseng’s existence is the couple Bodil Brems and Anders Hulgaard, who created the locally based training and treatment center GYMNASTIKHUSET.
The name was natural due to the couple’s past as elite gymnasts and with a youth in the special Danish folk high school movement.
The focus for both of them has been to strengthen body, soul and mind through training, activities, lectures, shows, and debates.
They have united this in the unique setting, created on the family farm at Vornæs Skov.
When the time came for a natural generational change in January 2020, the world had a few months after a new paradigm to deal with.
The task was to revise the foundation of the company’s existence, which gave birth to the structure of the above 5 elements.
The unique surroundings on and around the resort were activated, as nature is the only place we can move, regardless of the “world situation”.
An innovative process took off and shaped a combination of the empty wellness facilities and the great interest of the time in glamping.
The result was the concept of Wellness Glamping, which became the first part of the new identity for the company.
We keep thinking in new ways, testing and developing and collaborating with talented local companies, in order to constantly be able to offer unique experiences that strengthen and enrich everyone who visits Thorséng.
